(The hard cam transitions from a wide shot of the audience to our ringside announcers tonight for Return of the Dragon.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Welcome everyone to this historic event! Welcome everyone to Korakuen Hall! Welcome to Return of the Dragon!

(Camera shot widens to show Kohei Sakaguchi standing shoulder to shoulder with mic in hand.)

Kohei Sakaguchi: That won’t do! Say it with vigor! After all, this is Return of the Dragon! My greatest accomplishment!

 

Minoru Hasegawa: This is a tremendous accomplishment by yourself, Takayama-San, and Iwatami-San. We have an amazing night of wrestling action in store. Let us wait no longer.

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: (signature Sakaguchi charisma) Our journey begins down the King’s Road!

 

("The Fire" by The Roots fills the building as Dolton Reed flashes smiles and overhead bicep poses on the way to the ring. He stands proudly in fighting stance as “I Know Something” by Alice In Chains takes over the arena.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: The Damaja Huey Blounts! He may be unconventional, but don’t mistake his fire. 

 

(Blounts nods to his beat in the ring before the music cuts and the bell sounds.)

:Highlights:

- Reed lands leg kicks early and gloats.

- Blounts is a house of fire on Reed after wasting time posing.

- Quick exchanges ending in Blounts clotheslining Reed over the top rope and to the floor.

- Blounts opens up on Reed on the outside.

- Reed reverses an apron pile driver by driving The Damaja into the buckle on the apron back first.

- Reed switches between working the back and shadow boxing for show.

- Reed mocks Blounts extra curricular habits. Blounts fires up and fights back starting a hot comeback. 

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Rights and lefts. Forearm strike after forearm strike. Where is Blounts getting this spirit? These men are battling for supremacy within their own dojo.

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: Best of the mediocre. They failed to select the premier camp.

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Reed is unable to keep up with Huey’s internal drive. The Damaja is proving how he got his moniker right now. 

 

(A cut breaks open on top of Reed’s left eyebrow.)

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: Yes! Now it’s a fight!

 

(Reed struggles to stand as Blounts mocks putting out a fatty on Reed’s forehead just before…)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Reed swings! Blounts traps the arm! Cottonmouth Crossface! Will he …. Reed taps! 

 

(Dolton Reed clutches his shoulder and neck as he rolls to the floor. The Damaja celebrates a big victory with his signature 4:20 pose.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: It will be interesting to see where both men go from here. Big win tonight for The Damaja!

(Cameras cut back to the ring where SSS Idols of Sakura Champion Alexis Grace and challenger Rukia Matsuoka are in the ring for the formal championship match announcement.)

:Highlights:

- Matsuoka steals the championship and poses with it. She turns around to a furious Grace on a hot start.

- Grace performs signature moves early that sends Rukia retreating to the outside. 

- Matsuoka uses the the referee’s poor positioning to gouge Grace’s eye.

- Rukia continues to work on the eye as Grace’s wild offense is unable to land due to lack of vision. 

- Matsuoka sets up for her finish. Grace uses the sense of touch however to transition out and start a come back that allows her version to clear.

 

Minoru Hasegawa:  I cannot believe she is still coming back. She is battling with one eye! This is truly the spirit of a fighting champion. She’s setting up!

 

Koehei Sakaguchi: Lariato!

 

Minoru Hasegawa: 1 … 2 … kickout!

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: This is it. She has her now. It is all over. Grace will retain.

 

Minoru Hasegawa: No! Matsuoka switches! Blue thunder driver?

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: No! Inside cradle by Grace! 1 … 2 … 3!

 

Minoru Hasegawa: That’s it! Alexis Grace has done it! Still your Sakura Shoujo Stampede Idols of Sakura Champion!

 

(Grace poses with her championship held high. Matsuoka holds an ice pack to the back of her neck as she leaves in disgrace.)

- Both men stand nose to nose in the ring as the bell sounds.

- Wild flurry of haymakers from both starting the match hot.

- Both men tumble to the floor brawling around the ring.

- Hammerstein misses a flying strike from the apron into the barricade.

- Inside the ring, Ford drops Hammerstein with several big moves followed by near falls.

- Hammerstein fights back after Ford misses a tackle in the corner.

- Hammerstein sets up for Hammersteiner, but it’s reversed.

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Both men are teetering on the top turnbuckle exchanging heavy blows. If Ford lands this superplex … Oh No!

 

(Both competitors take a devastating spill to the floor as the referee initiates his 20 count.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: 18 … 19 … 20. This battle has ended early. 

 

(Medics hurry out to check on the two athletes as the camera fades to commercial.)

(Cameras open on the founding trio of King’s Road Puroresu, Hideyoshi Iwatami, Shuichi Takayama, and Kohei Sakaguchi standing in the ring. Sakaguchi holds center ring, a microphone, and the proudest grin you’ll find.)

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: Today I glow with pride as my greatest achievement is realized. I have created something truly great. Tonight fills me with great honor. King’s Road … (signature pose) Ichiban!

 

(MMA and pro wrestling legend Hideyoshi Iwatami steps forward and taps Sakaguchi on the shoulder as he raises his mic.)

 

Hideyoshi Iwatami: We have seen amazing athletes tonight. We have several more highly competitive contests to be decided. They will tell us a great deal of what is to come on the King’s Road.

 

(Sakaguchi shoots a sideways look at Takayama as he shakes Iwatami’s hand and politely accepts his microphone.)

 

Shuichi Takayama: As I look around this historic venue, I can’t help but want to thank each and every one of you for making this all possible. We would not be here if it wasn’t for you, the fans. We want to give more back to you. And that is why, tonight we introduce …

 

(A King’s Road young boy hurries out a velvet sack to the ring. He leans in to hand it to Iwatami before Sakaguchi snatches it from his grasp. Takayama and Iwatami both shake their heads. Sakaguchi pulls the shiny gold from under its disguise.)

Kohei Sakaguchi: Our World Heavyweight Championship!

 

Shuichi Takayama: We are proud to announce our affiliation with our new official governing body … Global Combat Sports!

 

Hideyoshi Iwatami: Two weeks from tonight, we host our second event. This night will see the beginning stages of our first GCS World Heavyweight Champion.

Kohei Sakaguchi: (pointing toward the curtain) Who among you has what it takes to hold this glory?!

 

(The elder statesmen pose with championship shared in hand for cameras flashing. A new cover for this week’s pro wrestling magazines. Transition to Minoru Hasegawa at ringside.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: What a huge announcement! Kings Road returns on June 24th! We will start the process to crown our first GCS World Heavyweight Champion! We have much to look forward to in two weeks. However, we have much more action here tonight. Let’s get to the ring.

 

(Sakaguchi joins Hasegawa back at ringside as "Name me King" by The Game ft Pusha T hits the PA. King Carter poses and walks with a swagger to the ring to the crowd’s dismay.)

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: Our King!

 

("Falling" By The GazettE takes over the sound system. The lights drop and Kira Izumi slowly strides toward the ring in leather jacket and an oni mask.)

:Highlights:

- King Carter poses showing off his physique. The fans don’t respond kindly. Izumi mocks his pose to the fans cheers. Carter uses the opportunity to hit Izumi from behind.

- Thinking the match is in hand, The King poses for his audience again. Izumi uses the opportunity to climb to the top rope and return the favor on Carter.

- Izumi picks up the pace and delivers high octane offense. 

- Izumi again climbs to the top rope, but is caught by Carter into a spine buster.

- Carter slows down the match and methodically works on Izumi’s back.

- The fans rally around Izumi. He fights off the pain and builds a base to fight from. Showing heart and fighting spirit, he builds his offense into a hot comeback.

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Izumi stands, but just barely. His back is in dire shape. 

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: Hard kick doubles over Carter. Double underhook! Kira Driver ‘91!?

 

Minoru Hasegawa: No! Spinout. Traps the arm. Crossface! Crossface!

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: He’ll tap. Coward chose the wrong dojo.

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Izumi is fighting off the pain! Will he tap?! 

 

(Izumi suddenly manages to shift weight and turn into a quick pin.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: 1 … 2 … kickout!

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: Carter! You will not fail me! Finish him!

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Lights Out?!

 

(King Carter swings for his signature Superman punch … but misses.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Knee to the mid-section! Kira Driver ‘91?! No!!

 

(Izumi is unable to clasp the grip and suddenly takes a back body drop. Both men quickly rise in opposite corners.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Royal Blood!!

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: That spear nearly cut him in half! Haha!

 

Minoru Hasegawa: 1 … 2 … 3! What an amazing match! Tremendous battle by both men!

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: But Sakaguchi Dojo comes out on top!

 

(Carter stands with hands raised walking toward the back. The crowd celebrates Izumi’s effort as the victor parts the curtain.)

:Highlights:

- Devereaux and Holland stand face to face in the middle. The Korakuen Hall audience comes alive.

- Both slowly feel each other out and begin wrestling hold for hold.

- Neither is able to gain the advantage as the pace slowly picks up.

- Each man trades signature moves as the audience reaction slowly grows with each high spot.

- A fast flurry of heavy moves is suddenly stopped with a hard double clothesline flattening both men.

- Korakuen Hall trades chants for each competitor. 

- Devereaux lands a huge running knee! Holland slowly builds to his knees and flips off Devereaux.

- Devereaux swings wildly and is caught by Holland! Quick switch, then another. Running knee strike by Holland this time. Devereaux returns the raised middle finger. Korakuen explodes!

 

Minoru Hasegawa: What is this?! Both men head to the outside. They have retrieved weapons!

 

(Holland and Devereaux meet back in the ring with a chair and ring bell respectively. They exchange match ending attacks simultaneously.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Our official is calling for the bell. Both men are out! No man has won this war.

 

(Medics attend to the fallen stars as cameras transition to commercial.)

(‘Bad Moon Rising’ by CCR plays through Korakuen Hall as the SWAG Star Marco Street bobs and weaves to the tunes in his trademark sponsor covered baseball cap and SWAG t-shirt.)

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: Yes! Show them. Show them!

 

(Street shadow boxes in the ring as "Forces" by Susumu Hirasawa breaks the mood. The crowd shoots to their feet. ‘Kawada’ chants break out as the star paces toward the ring. Street claps and looks impressed as Masanori enters the ring for battle.)

:Highlights:

- Street offers a cocky handshake. Kawada scoffs. 

- The two trade holds early with Street coming out on top early. Street showboats.

- Kawada starts in with heavy chops and strikes lighting up the rookie. 

- Kawada sets up for K-Dynamite early. Marco reverses into a advantage changing head kick.

- Masanori fights off submission attempts from Street. 

- Kawada trades chops with Street’s chest kicks.

- Both men trade heavy forearms until mutually crumbling to a knee.

 

Minoru Hasegawa: We have reset, but both men are now at less than half strength! Who will gain the advantage?

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: This will come down to one special technique. Whose will is stronger?

 

(Both fighters lean into one another to brace their own weight as they struggle for balance.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: These two are still trading devastating elbow strikes!

 

(The back and forth exchange speeds to a rush until Street attempts a wild head kick, but fails to land.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: That’s the opening Kawada needs. Will he hit with K-Dynamite this time?!

 

(Street slips out the back before the finisher has transitioned fully into Emerald Flowsion.)

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: Head kick!! Head kick!! Now! Finish my glorious night in our favor!

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Head kick! Street has this won! SWAG Lock! He’s not going for the pin. He wants to tap Kawada! What a statement!

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: Just finish it!

 

(Kawada reaches deep into his reserves and lifts Marco off his feet. One quick effort pops the hold free and allows Kawada opportunity to land a roaring elbow.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: This is it! Setting him up! K-Dynamite MAX!!! 1 … 2 … 3!

 

Kohei Sakaguchi: Noooooo!!!

 

Minoru Hasegawa: What a tremendous event! What an amazing night! This has been … Wait. Who is that? Hammerstein? Why is he? King Carter? … Hold on! Where are you going?

 

(Sakaguchi rises from the announce table and folds his chair. He strides toward the ring and slides it in toward Street.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Sakaguchi Dojo hits the ring! This is a disgrace to this historic event!

 

(Sakaguchi violently pulls the referee from the ring and walks toward the podium holding the newly minted GCS World Heavyweight Championship belt. An evil grin stretches across his face as he snatches it from its perch.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: This cannot be! Hammerstein & King Carter are continuing their assault on Kawada. Street has a chair. Someone must … It’s Takayama!

 

(Takayama hits the ring. His dojo follows quickly behind to save Kawada from further harm. Sakaguchi Dojo quickly scatters to the outside where Street drops the chair he was handed and Sakaguchi poses with the gold he has stolen. Sakaguchi and his soldiers leave with the championship through the crowd while Takayama Dojo stands proud and ready for a fight in the ring.)

 

Minoru Hasegawa: Ladies and gentlemen, it has been such a tremendous night, but I must apologize on behalf of our staff for the way our colleague has disgraced this company’s first event in its history. Our redemption comes on June 24! Please join us then, live on Kings Road World! Thank you and goodnight.

 

(Camera zooms on Takayama’s disgust as the scene fades to black. End network.)
