Glory & Gold

Stage 2

Tokyo, Japan

(attendance: 7,148)

Start network. The scene opens with a wide shot from balcony seating inside Ariake Coliseum. The voice of King’s Road, Minoru Hasegawa, stands finely dressed in the ring to greet the audience.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the most important night in our young history. Tonight we crown our first ever GCS World Heavyweight Champion.

(A graphic for tonight‘s main event flashes across the screen.)

Minoru Hasegawa: It has all come down to these two men. Isaiah luck vs Aiden Ford. This will be a battle of speed vs strength. This will be a battle of Takayama Dojo vs Takayama Dojo. Shuichi Takayama is surely in the back right now preparing both competitors for this historic fight, but he must be pleased knowing the GCS World Heavyweight Championship will be coming home to his dojo at the end of the evening. Let us waste no more time. Glory and gold stage two begins now.

Iwatami Dojo (Jason Scott, Sakaria Koa, and Dolton Reed)

vs

Sakaguchi Dojo (Desmond Masters, King Carter, and Liam Archer)

Minoru Hasegawa: We are getting set for action ladies and … what is this?

(Cameras cut to the announce table where we see Iwatami Dojo youngboy Hitoshi Nomura is seen whispering in the ear of Hasegawa-San.)

Minoru Hasegawa: It seems the enigmatic Hideyoshi Iwatami has pulled his team from competition feeling they were not worthy to fight in his name tonight. This is a practice we’ve seen from Iwatami in mma in the past. This match has apparently been thrown out.

Winner: No Contest

(Cameras cut to ringside where we see former 2x Tokyo Sports Joshi of the Year Azumi Goto in the front row.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome one of the newest members of King’s Road … Azumi Goto!

(The Joshi standout rises from her chair and waives to the Tokyo crowd as a ‘Goto’ chant begins buzzing in Ariake. Azumi hits her signature pose for the camera as we fade to commercial.)

Highlights:

- Saito and Aguila meet in the middle of the ring and bow in respect before their contest. Ariake applauds.

- The two athletes quickly speed up the pace as each tries to find a lead, but neither is able to out “quick” or out maneuver the other.

- An up and down effort with motion off the ropes and a series of aerial evasions leaves the two in a stalemate standoff that the Tokyo crowd appreciates.

- Saito uses the moment to gain a waist lock, but soon loses grip on a standing switch and receives a trio of lucha arm drags.

- Aguila climbs the ropes, but is followed close behind by a knee from Mari that stuns the luchador.

- Three sharp kicks follow in a mere instant. Quick cover and an early 2 count nearly earns Saito the win.

- Mari grabs an armbar and keeps, wearing down the masked warrior.

- Aguila builds to his feet and attempts another lucha drag, but Saito cartwheels out.

- The two both take off gaining speed in a cross cross. Saito breaks first changing direction. Aguila adjusts and executes a springboard lucha drag into a roll up and a quick 2 count.

Minoru Hasegawa: Saito to the ropes.

(Aguila follows quickly behind and stuns the “Japanese Jewel” against the ropes.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Aguila with a head of steam. Hurricanrana to the floor! They are both down and hurt.

(The referee completes a twenty count on the floor for both competitors making the match a draw.)

Winner: Double Countout

(The screen cuts to Robert Zodiac, who is sitting backstage somewhere but it is unrecognizable from how little is seen.  He is wearing a leather jacket and black jeans with what look to be combat-style boots.  His hands are folded in front of him as he looks up from the ground and into the camera.  As Zodiac begins to speak, there is an aggressive tone to his voice, as if he was already angry.)

Robert Zodiac: In case none of you saw my little introduction package, here's your recap:  I hate you and your camp training bullshit.  I'm here to hurt you because I can, because that's what I do better than anyone else you'll ever see walk through those doors.  I'm better at it than any of these camp mentors, and I'd prove it if management let me in the ring with them.  I'd dislocate their jaw with my elbow.  I'm not gonna be over-arrogant and say I'll do it with the first strike, but I am gonna say that I'd do it.  Not just to the mentors...to anyone that steps up to me and tries to tell me that I'm wrong.

(Zodiac stands up picks the camera up while doing so, continuing to speak as the lens stars shaking.)

Robert Zodiac: I promise you this:  I will find the best you have to offer, and I will make a joke out of them.  There will be nothing left in my path but destruction and chaos.  I will hurt people, I will end careers.  Everyone fall at my feet.  Welcome to the dark ages, I can show you my path of destruction but it's up to you to walk it.  I've had many walk beside me, and I've had many more stand in front of me in an attempt to hinder me.  I will walk out of King's Road by the end of 2018 with the world title, and I don't give a damn who's holding it.  Destruction is coming to King's Road...and there's not a damn thing you can do to stop it.

(Zodiac is heard laughing as the camera cuts to static briefly before cutting to a black screen with nothing but silence, ending the recording. The scene transitions back to the announce table.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Well, it will be interesting to see how Mr. Zodiac is able to fit in the King's Road system. For instance, who will he team with when we return on King's Road World for King's Road Tag League on July 22nd? In two weeks we will see an eight team single elimination tournament to crown the first ever GCS World Tag Team Champions! King's Road World ... never miss a moment!

(Cameras cut backstage inside the Sakaguchi Dojo locker room. Each pupil stands in a semi circle around their leader with heads bowed in shame.)

Kohei Sakaguchi: Disgrace. Dishonor! Tonight two men from Takayama Dojo fight for the championship that should be ours. I hold each and everyone of you personally responsible. You have demonstrated to me your worthiness to be a champion. Now, let me demonstrate my worth. Now, do as you've been ordered ... or else.

(The angry elder statesman of the Sakaguchi Dojo turns and exits slamming the door behind him. Each dojo members’ head slowly raises with an uncertain look regarding their sensei‘s intentions.)

Highlights:

- Izumi and Blounts stare each other down before immediately engaging in a strike exchange.

- Blounts seems to gain control in the strikes, but Kira asks for more displaying heart that the Ariake Coliseum responds favorably to.

- Huey lines up for a heavy strike, but is staggered in the middle with a flash superkick.

- Izumi shakes out the cobwebs and starts in with chops and forearms.

- Blounts blocks a chop and attempts a suplex that Kira slips out of and delivers a German suplex of his own that energizes the audience.

- Izumi follows up with a running drop kick in the corner on “The Damaja”. Kira gets a close 2 count.

- “FlipKira” goes to the top rope. Blounts recovers and races up the inside of the same buckle.

- The two struggle, but “The Damaja” gains the upper hand on the top rope and delivers a superplex. Both men are down.

Minoru Hasegawa: Both men have fought through the pain and are both rolling slowly out of the ring and to the floor. Wait now! They both have the same idea!

(The two return to the ring with foreign objects and waist no time blasting the other in stereo causing both to crash to the mat.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Tough to hold back these two fiery personalities.

(The referee calls for the bell as he clears the weapons from the ring. EMT’s rush to ringside checking the injured athletes.)

Minoru Hasegawa: There is no winner here. We just hope both men will be healthy again soon.

Winner: Double DQ

(The scene transitions to a hallway backstage as cameras follow a damaged Huey Blounts into the Iwatami Dojo locker room. Huey opens the door and comes face to face with his mentor. He orders his ailing student to sit with the others.)

Hideyoshi Iwatami: There is no doubt you have probably heard rumblings of Sakaguchi-San desiring to sabotage tonight‘s main event and ruin any success for the Takayama Dojo. You may feel it is in your best interest to maintain justice on behalf of the entirety of King's Road yourself, but you are mistaken. None of you will act on your primal urges, but instead, will maintain focus and strive for greater preparation when your opportunity comes. Iwatami Dojo will not play a part in tonight’s main event. We will remain neutral. We will remain focused.

(The orders of their master leave each disciple with varied reactions. Some are still fired up and chomping at the bit to make sure order is maintained in tonight‘s main event. Others do not dare question or go against their leadership.)

Highlights:

- Both men meet in the middle staring each other down. Hammerstein’s intensity is matched by Street’s SWAG.

- Hammerstein laughs maniacally. Marco chuckles. Hammerstein’s demeanor suddenly drops and he viciously attacks with a barrage of offense.

- Hammerstein turns to the crowd and mocks his opponent. Street reverses an Irish whip and delivers a standing head kick that wobbles “The American Monster”.

- The “SWAG Star” fires off European uppercuts staggering Hammerstein.

- Street turns a wild right into flying triangle choke attempt.

- Hammerstein fights off the hold and rakes Marco’s eyes out of desperation.

- Hammerstein uses the opening to reverse the momentum with a sudden tilt-a-whirl sideslam.

- Street is unable to get to his feet as his opponent continues the punishment on his now damaged back.

- Marco fights from underneath, but with lacking force due to his ailing back. Hammerstein shuts down each attempt and revels in his advantage.

Minoru Hasegawa: Hammerstein looks like he’s done playing games. He’s calling for the Hammersteiner! It’s academic from here.

(Street uses his long limbs to grasp the top rope. He pulls hard sending his own body to the apron and snapping Hammerstein’s neck against the top rope.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Street needed this opening.

(Hammerstein collects his thoughts and reaches for his opponent only to receive a jumping head kick from the apron instead.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Marco is struggling to climb to the top rope. Hammerstein is recovering. Too late! Big high cross body off the top by Street!

(Marco is first to his feet and meets a kneeling Hammerstein with repeated chest kicks that continue to build the crowd reaction.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Street lines him up … Super SWAG Kick. Street makes the cover. 1 … 2 … kickout. Not quite enough yet.

(Street fights to his fight pumping his fist feeling the Tokyo crowd.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Street is looking to finish! SWAG Lock?! No, Hammerstein is fighting the grip. He doesn’t have it yet.

(Hammerstein creates just enough separation to deliver a headbutt that bloodies Street over his right eye.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Marco can’t see! He’s wiping the blood out of his eyes, but … roaring forearm!

(Hammerstein symbolically slashes his own throat pointing at the SWAG Star.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Street’s eyes are glazed over. Hammersteiner! Street is out! 1 … 2 … 3! What a hard fought contest by both men.

Winner: Hammerstein

(Cameras cut backstage inside the Takayama Dojo locker room. Isaiah luck is going over last-minute preparation with his mentor before tonight’s main event. Shuichi places a hand on his shoulder as we see him mouth the words ‘good luck’ with a smile. “The Legend of Tomorrow” nods with a grin before Takayama-San exits the room and makes his way down a narrow hallway where Aiden Ford has secluded himself in mental preparation.)

Shuichi Takayama: As I told young Isaiah, good luck tonight. May the best man win. I understand the way Sakaguchi-San’s brain thinks so I have employed additional security to surround ringside so that there will be order in your match. I am so proud to be represented by both of you and look forward to honoring our new championship.

(Ford bows with a determined look glaring in his eye. He quickly turns back to stretching for the big fight. Takayama-San smiles at the unwavering focus and leaves his warriors to their battle.)

Your global leader in communication systems

Highlights:

- Kawada extends a hand. Ishimori nonchalantly shakes it without breaking eye contact.

- Masanori and Raiden begin exchanging hold for hold early on.

- The pace is quickened when Ishimori stuns Kawada with a forearm and whips him to the buckle. Raiden charges as Masanori moves sending “The Lonewolf of Osaka” crashing shoulder first into the ring post.

- Masanori takes advantage working on the damaged shoulder.

- The “Everlasting Hero” delivers a devastating shoulder breaker to Ishimori earning a near fall.

- Raiden is able to fight from underneath with his one good arm and a series of kicks.

- Kawada ducks an enzuigiri attempt allowing Ishimori’s momentum to drive his own shoulder into the mat accidentally.

- Masanori uses the opening to climb to the top rope and execute a perfectly placed elbow drop on the injured arm for another deep 2 count.

- Kawada sets up for K-Dynamite and signals the audience.

Minoru Hasegawa: This will be it if he hits it.

(Ishimori is able to break the grip and spin out allowing enough room for a standing standing dropkick.)

Minoru Hasegawa: That dropkick leveled Kawada! Who will be able to take an advantage now? This match has been back and forth. We are essentially starting over with both men in the middle dragging themselves to their feet.

(The two men lean in against one another to brace each other‘s weight. They slowly rise to their feet and begin a strike exchange that is delivered with only half the intensity due to the damage each has taken.)

Minoru Hasegawa: This is a test of wills now. Which athlete has more in the tank? Ishimori with the forearm. Now Kawada with an elbow. What an amazing contest!

(Masanori receives a stiff shot that wakes him up and sends the fighting spirit throughout his body.)

Minoru Hasegawa: There it is. That is the look. Brace yourself!

(Kawada’s rage boils over and adrenaline kicks in. Masanori delivers strike after strike without a return. The brutal barrage finally ends in a devastating ax handle and then a big backdrop driver.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Is this it?! 1 … 2 … kickout!

(The crowd begins to build as both men slow to their feet. Kawada doubles over his opponent and sets up for his finisher once again.)

Minoru Hasegawa: K-Dynamite! And the cover! 1 … 2 … kickout! Unbelievable.

(Kawada looks stunned as he contemplates his next move. He suddenly glances to the top rope and makes his way to the apron and up to the top turnbuckle.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Frog splash?! This will finish it.

(Masanori leaps, but Raiden moves just in time sending his opponent crashing to the canvas.)

Minoru Hasegawa: This is the opening that Ishimori needs. Raiden is to his feet first. Can he capitalize?

(Ishimori signals and lifts for Winds of Catastrophe avoiding the use of his injured shoulder.)

Minoru Hasegawa: He got him up! Winds of Catastrophe on Kawada! 1 … 2 … kickout! Ishimori nearly had the victory in hand. He is signaling for another.

(Raiden shakes out the pain in his shoulder and sets up Masanori one more time for the same finish. However, Kawada is able to deliver three sharp elbows allowing his escape.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Masanori now has “The Lone Wolf of Osaka” staggered. Quick kick doubles over Ishimori! Titan Bomb?! Yes! Titan Bomb! Cover! 1 … 2 … KICKOUT!

(Ariake erupts for the live action. “The Absolute” snarls at Ishimori dragging the near lifeless body to his feet. Kawada sets up Raiden.)

Minoru Hasegawa: K-Dynamite MAX! 1 … 2 … 3! This may have been the greatest match in the short history of the King’s Road.

Winner: Masanori Kawada

NEVER MISS A MOMENT

(The screen above the stage lights up as we see a man standing in the middle of a baseball field, wearing a golden jersey. The outfield is filled with nothing but beautiful women donning the same jerseys. His back is to the camera as the jersey reveals the number 1 and the word "Flawless" above it.)

??: You know what King's Road truly needs to elevate itself? What it needs to take it to that next level? Me...

(The man turns around and gives a snarky smile as the girls on the field cheer and holler for him.)

Jimmy Edwards: Hello... I am The Flawless One... Jimmy Edwards... and I have come to save you from the boredom that is the rest of the roster... it's filled with wannabes and neverwills. And let's face it... that's not how you want a company to be at all.

(Edwards steps up to the plate grabbing a bat, getting in a stance. The female pitches throws a fastball as Edwards swings cracking the ball sending it flying through the air and out of the field for a homerun. He gives the camera a wink. The next clip shows Edwards and his entourage of women out on a football field. One of the girls is kneeling holding a football at the 50 yard line.)

Jimmy Edwards: You see... this company needs somebody they can rely on in the final quarter... a man who doesn't fold under pressure! A man who can kick things into a higher gear!

(Edwards takes a run and kicks the football high into the air watching it sail right through the middle of the goal posts. The women again begin to cheer surrounding him, all tugging on his jersey.)

Jimmy Edwards: Who better than me?

(The next scene shows Jimmy in the middle of a wrestling ring. Donning a gold robe and dark shades on his face.)

Jimmy Edwards: Let's face it... your money maker is standing before you... your future main event is here. The Flawless Era can officially begin... soon I will grace this ring... and it will be.... Absolutely Flawless!

(Jimmy winks at the camera as the scene fades out as the following words appear on the screen.)

Flawless One... Coming Soon

Highlights:

- Luck and Ford slowly step to the middle and meet face-to-face as the Colosseum crowd comes alive.

- Luck extends his hand. Ford shoves his opponent and laughs a big Texas laugh. Luck smiles and nods. Hard lockup.

- Isaiah finds an advantage with wrist control into an arm wringer, but is soon met with stiff forearms. Luck does not let go.

- Ford tries to shake off Luck’s grip, but is unable as they both end up on the mat with the “Gaijin Hero” kicking at the referee when he asks if he wants to tap.

- Aiden eventually works to his feet and uses all his body weight to out maneuver his opponent into the corner. A stiff body shot while the referee attempts a separation finally causes Luck to lose the wrist.

- Ford uses the opening to start in with heavy kicks and brutal right hands.

- The “Gaijin Hero” lifts Isaiah up for a stalling suplex, but instead walks him over to the ropes and dumps him dramatically face first to the outside on the floor.

- 16 count on the floor.

- Aiden stomps away at Luck’s injured ribs.

- Ford progresses from one counts to deep 2 counts after a series of wear down holds on the mid-section.

“The Legend of Tomorrow” fights back, but his offense is swiftly cut to size after Ford catches a cross body attempt and reverses into a back breaker.

- The large Texan picks up Luck and dumps him viciously again to the outside.

- 19 count on the floor.

- Ford smirks as Isaiah barely beats the 20 count.

Minoru Hasegawa: Luck is back in the ring and is … asking for more?!

(Ford chuckles at the gesture, but his focus is quickly diverted by a commotion in the crowd.)

Minoru Hasegawa: This cannot be! It’s Sakaguchi Dojo! They are trying to sabotage this main event. If he can’t have the championship, no one will apparently.

(Members of Sakaguchi Dojo tussle with security at the edge of the building on all sides of the arena.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Takayama-San’s plan is working though. There is chaos everywhere except in the middle of the ring. We may get a fair contest still. Wait … from underneath the ring … !

(Kohei Sakaguchi slides out from under the ring with the brand new GCS World Heavyweight Championship belt. He tosses it in the ring, pulls the referee violently to the floor, and quickly follows in to retrieve it, but not before Aiden Ford is able to lay claim first.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Kohei Sakaguchi made the most devious of plans to ruin this historic night for Takayama Dojo, but Aiden Ford has the gold. Best laid plans. Takayama’s security and dojo are neutralizing Sakaguchi Dojo on the outside. That diversion allowed their mentor into the ring, but “The Gaijin Hero” is holding Sakaguchi at bay.

(Ford holds up the championship symbolically asking the fans if he should attack Sakaguchi who is begging off. The crowd erupts. Ford smiles. But … then Sakaguchi smiles.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Wait … no. Why are they both smiling?

(Both Ford and Sakaguchi simultaneously slowly turn to face Isaiah Luck. Sakaguchi points at Luck … and then turns his thumb down.)

Minoru Hasegawa: No! This can’t be. No!

(Aiden Ford charges at full speed and delivers an unprotected belt shot to the face of Luck.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Oh my! That has split Luck wide open. It is still bedlam throughout the arena with security, Takayama Dojo, and Sakaguchi Dojo all still out amongst the crowd.

(The blood begins to flow as Ford drags his palm across Isaiah’s crimson mask. He turns to Sakaguchi showing him the blood on his hands … laughing. Kohei smiles back to what looks to be his newest student.)

Minoru Hasegawa: This is not right.

(Ford hooks the head. Ford hooks the leg. Kohei slithers to the outside as the ref slowly recovers and pulls himself into the ring.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Not like this! Crazy, Noisy, Bizarre! He got all of that Fisherman Buster. 1 … 2 … KICKOUT!!!

(Ford smiles in disbelief. Luck doesn’t move a muscle. Kohei pounds the apron on the outside furiously.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Bless Isaiah Luck for his fighting spirit, because this is a shame.

(Aiden lifts his opponent’s motionless body and hooks again.)

Minoru Hasegawa: Not again. Crazy, Noisy, Bizarre again! Ford keeps the quick pin. 1 … 2 … 3!

(Sakaguchi races into the ring and snatched the GCS World Heavyweight Championship. He hugs it tightly before presenting it proudly to his newest disciple and now first ever GCS World Heavyweight Champion.)

Minoru Hasegawa: This is a sad scene. Ladies and gentlemen, your first champion … “The Gaijin Villain” Aiden Ford.

Winner: Aiden Ford

(Ford clutches his new gold in one hand as his new mentor raises his other arm toward the hard camera. The scene cuts to Shuichi Takayama near the stage looking on in shock and bewilderment. Hard cut back to the ring as Sakaguchi straps the GCS World Heavyweight Championship around the waist of Aiden Ford. They pose with evil smiles as the scene fades. End network.)
