About

Real World:

This is a passion project for me. My whole idea of starting this fed was to create something new and fun without eating up large amounts of everyone’s time.

In short, maximize fun and minimize work. To this effect, some features of the Fed may be ideas you’ve seen elsewhere. Other aspects may be completely new, but born out of the necessity to save time.

For example, Most show results will not show a typical descriptive match display. Instead, highlights of the match will be laid out and important moments will be expounded upon. There will be no set limits as to how much will be written on any particular match or angle. It will be completely dependent upon how much time, work, and help I get to complete shows. There will also be smaller word count limits on role-plays and small role play limits per show. More specific detail to come.

Typically one role-play will be judged for each show. This will determine winners and losers of each match. However, your push will be determined on your overall participation. Creating supporting content that will live on our network and being active on Twitter will create the opportunity within Kings Road to find success.

My vision is not to have bulky novel-like results once every two weeks with no other supporting content. To the contrary, results will feel easy to read through. Instead of focusing on one big show every two weeks, more effort will be put into developing supporting content. For example, having fun side projects like showing off fake merchandise for wrestlers, providing unique artwork, providing unique video editing, providing unique content for our ‘network’ will provide a more steady stream of fun game environment for us to enjoy, rather than headaches and one large information dump every two weeks.

This is a new concept for me. I’m sure there will be changes along the way. I’m sure we will add things. I’m sure we will delete things. This will be a moving concept that I hope many will enjoy.

For this project, I would love later expansion. For that reason, I encourage everyone to use as many characters as they would like.

Background:

Kings Road was started by three founding members. Each of the three were widely revered as top athletes in Japanese pro wrestling history, but with extremely contrasting styles.

The first, Hideyoshi Iwatami, was a mixed martial arts purest transitioned into pro wrestler. Iwatami relied heavily on his shoot grappling techniques and brutal conditioning to outlast his opponents. The great shooter continues these teachings in his dojo today.

Kohei Sakaguchi was less traditional and more flamboyant however. Sakaguchi gained a strong American following while on excursion under the persona The Mystic which propelled his career in the states and back at home. The Kohei Dojo teaches technique, but focuses heavily on entertainment and alternative wrestling styles from all around the world. Sakaguchi is loved by fans, but often mocked and disrespected behind closed doors due to his reputation of dealing with undesirable yakuza bosses.

The final of the three proudly keeps Japanese wrestling tradition alive and well. Shuichi Takayama served as young boy to Japan’s biggest wrestling star of the 1980’s. Fans have watched him grow through the ranks while appreciating his work ethic and loyalty to the Kings Road style of pro wrestling. Takayama teaches traditional Kings Road style disciplines in his farm village dojo.

These competing camps are important to King's Road because every combatant in King's Road must align with one of the three to compete. (The purpose of aligning with one of the three camps is strictly to drive additional storylines in the future and to add another game element.)

The Network

The network will be a central point to the promotion. Essentially it will just be our forums, but I want to think outside the box in terms of creating unique supporting content outside of just role plays. Sure, you will role-play for your match here, But what else can you provide? Are you good at graphics? Are you good at video editing? Come up with a cool visual idea to show off fake merchandise? Want to do a podcast for the promotion? Creating supporting content on our network is what will create your push. Your push gets you into a big-time match. Your role-play wins you that match.

Events: Event every two weeks - periodic house shows - periodic tournaments and specials

We also hope to partner with other promotions and networks to provide their programming as well.

Storylines & Creative

You are your own creative. We may suggest angles or ideas, but your character's angles in shows should be written by you in order to make sure your character is portrayed appropriately.

Leave of Absence/Quitting

If you need to take a leave of absence, please let us know. Preferrably DM @KingsRoadPuro on Twitter, but you may also create a thread on the OOC board.

Roleplays

Word Count

Word count will not win you matches! This promotion was built in the idea of not being overwhelmed with text. The most successful promos will entertain in the fewest words possible. There will be a 1,000 word limit on match RP's. There is no word count on supporting content RP's.

RP Limit

There will be a 1 RP per match limit. There is no limit to supporting network RP's however. You have 1 RP to win you a match, but your overall participation will secure your push up the card. That being said, again, overwhelming word count will get you nowhere. Providing quality entertaining content that leaves fans wanting more will always win the day!!!

Push

Your overall participation will determine what level of matches you're booked in just as much if not more so than win/loss record. Add to our community. Roleplay for your match, but also provide character development RP's. Produce a daily, weekly, or sporadic show hosted by your charachter. Present video or graphic content if that's your skillset. Think of ways to add elements to add to our community and you will be moved up the card quickly.

#1 Rule

Zero tolerance policy on inapropriate behavior. There are obvious things we should stay away from. If I have to tell you what those are, I'll probably just ask you to leave. But even as far as general negativity will not be accepted here. This place will be fun, not headaches.
